I have tried many web hosts for the last 5 years and no other company impressed me like FatCow. Truly professional support and services!

Horrible Customer service. When I went to cancel my service, I had $50 of charges that they claimed were un-refundable. These were service “recommendations” that were pre-selected for me, that I did not order knowingly. It would be one thing if these could be refunded, but to sneak them into my order when I signed up, force them on me, then tell me they cannot be refunded, that is theft.

Buyer Beware: that low ONE-TIME price will double with your 2nd year. We used to call that bait and switch, but in the 4 point type, FC does notify you that it will increase to $104 in the following year. A price, we note, that is very cheap. The service, frankly, is average. Not great, not terrible. They have a lot of spotty down times that they like to blame on the your Internet provider (“it’s the router!” as the Internet providers used to say). What is most fun is their is daily selection of names they give to their online chat staff. They most likely have meetings every morning where they pick a name out of hat-they’re that funny when you consider they name is most likely Kumar.

I have just started hosting my second site with fatcow and totally regret it. Over the past three weeks I have had so much downtime it’s unbelievable. I am using customer support every other day to try and get the problem resolved and each time have the same response from customer service “I am able to recreate the problem and have raised a ticket”. I’m canceling this weekend and moving somewhere else.

The web host further gives redundant multi GB connections to get maximum amount of reliability as far as data transfer is concerned.
I have been using FatCow since a year and wish to be with it for times to come. Earlier I was using some other hosting service but have found that FatCow is not just reliable but reasonable as well. I love it. Had no problem and their support helped me when I needed. After tge last two horrible hosts I’ve been with FatCow is great!

I have been hosting a small site with FatCow for two years now, and have been very satisfied. The couple of times that I have spoken with a customer service rep, they have been friendly and helpful. When I wanted to downgrade my plan, the person I spoke do was courteous, helpful, and did not try to pressure me to buy anything I didn’t want. That was refreshing. My site does not demand a lot in terms of service features like shopping cart or autoresponder, so I cannot comment on the reliability or value of those services. But for the simple site that I have, the service has been great.

My account is down and they don’t seem to care. My website was supposed to transfer many weeks ago without interruption. still hasn’t, and now it’s completely down. I’m told it has been put under priority status, which means a tech will look at it within 48 hours. Run Run Run from these people. God are they shockingly incompetent and cavelier about your problems!

I tried FatCow for webhosting a local political campaign site based on reviews like these. The price was decent – $44 for a year.

The campaign was successful, and I took the site down afterward. Unfortunately, I did not cancel the account, and it autorenewed at _$107_ for a year. When I went to cancel it, they told me there would be a $35 cancellation fee. When I said I didn’t remember seeing that when I signed up, they said it’s in “Terms and Conditions” – buried with a ton of legalese.

Anyway, fool me once and all that. I told them I thought their policy was misleading and abusive, and I won’t be back.

(PS- They also take _forever_ to answer their phone – it took three tries to get this cancelled since one time I had to leave after ~20 minutes on hold and the other time I was cut off after a similar wait time.)

My website has been down since March. Someone placed a virus in the site which Fat Cow is hosting. They have done nothing to correct the problem. Now they are claiming since I don’t have their maintainence plain they are not going to do anything to repair it. It almost seems to me that they gave me the virus to sell me a protection plan.
